The Digital Dread Report for December 11th
Info Post
Can you feel the Christmas in the air? We can. The big day is getting closer, and we're still not done shopping! Luckily for us there's some movies coming out this week that could help us finish off our shopping lists.
The big releases of the week are The Bourne Legacy and Ted. Both were great movies, and we're definitely going to be adding them to our libraries soon enough.
The big Horror releases of the week have to be Shout Facotry's BD restorations of Death Valley and The Island; Shout Factory has a knack for taking obscure old horror flicks and giving them the deluxe treatment, so we're excited to see what they've done with these forgotten gems.
If you're looking to support anyone with your Holiday $$$ this year, the team over at Shout Factory is a deserving lot. They truly love the horror genre and do their part to keep it alive and well.
If it's old stuff you're looking for, then you need look no further than some new treatments of some old Bava and H.G. Lewis flicks. Both releases could prove to be retro-goodness, which is always welcome.
Doomsday Book we've seen and liked, Chiller we haven't but want to. We'll most likely get to grabbing copies of them after Christmas. Most likely.
The rest are all a bunch of crap shoots, so buyer beware. We have to admit though that Hemo has us curious, and we really love the poster and title for Creep Van. then again we like the poster for Life Zone too, but we're pretty sure that it's going to suck despite that fact.
The posters/box art fools us far too often!
